We have a couple of new posts up this evening, in addition to our Thought for the Day.
On the Publishing and Productions blog, we have up a video of the song, "Awakening" by Native American artists Primeaux & Mike. On the Sacred Earth Vision Quest Ranch blog, we have a short documentary entitled, "American Holocaust of the Native American Indians". Do you know what the connection is between Adolf Hitler and the attempted extermination of the native peoples of America?

Be sure to visit our "Thought for the Day" blog often. There are some interesting thoughts there.
This is another beautiful video with words of wisdom from Native American peoples. There is so much to learn from the elders of the indigenous peoples of the Earth. We would all do well to pay heed to their wisdom, for these are the Keepers of the Earth. None know her more intimately than they do. The Healing Arts Center has posted the prayer that is meant to accompany the "Art of Peaceful Sustenance" article shared a few weeks ago. For those of you who are moving into Peaceful sustenance as a way of living - or if you are just looking for a different Thanksgiving Day prayer - we suggest the "A Prayer for Peaceful Sustenance" as part of your "routines".
As many of you prepare to enjoy your Thanksgiving dinners, perhaps you are also contemplating the things that you are thankful for this year. It is good if you have remembered to also give thanks for the Native Americans without whose assistance the first European settlers would have perished. But, there is more.
It is also most appropriate to ask the Native American peoples for Forgiveness. Forgiveness? Yes, Forgiveness. The history books have not reflected the Truth about Thanksgiving, nor have most history teachers spoken it. Perhaps they do not know the Truth. Do you? You can learn more about it on the Sacred Earth Vision Quest Ranch blog. We have a couple of new items to share with you today. We have added a "See the Need....Be the Change" note. This note explains a little of why you see posts here that seem a little out of place for a website dedicated to teaching others the way to a new Life (of Peace).
We've also added a new blog to the site. This one is called "Thought for the Day". You can find it at the top of the blog log, under the "What's New" menu, and on the site map. We hope you Our Publishing and Productions blog has up a wonderful video of Jana Mashonee's "Spirit of One" expressed in Native American sign language. It is a moving video....
The Ten Indian Commandments are a beautiful reflection of Native American spirituality - at least in our perception. Native American spirituality leads us into a wonderful blend of spiritual reverence for our Creator, Mother Earth, and every being and aspect of Life. The ten commandments - or commitments - are ideals to respect, appreciate, and aspire to. Video Credit: YouTube user "mysnakeeye" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoPUy7hLsKE&feature=relmfu
For those of you who are planning on a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, we have a message for you from our neighbors. Our favorite turkey alternative is the "Tofurky" feast. :) According to the folks that make the "Tofurky", they are non-GMO and mostly organic. (Evidently some of the spices cannot be found obtained from organic growers.)
A beautiful message, powerful imagery, inspirational being.... Video Credit: YouTube user "sgalfas" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8yKxXo75wXk#!
We have parts 5-8 of Wisdom Keepers up on the SEVQR blog.
It would appear that it is "open season" on wolves all over the country. Sides are deeply divided over the idea of killing off animals who were, until recently, on the endangered species list. Ranchers generally want the wolves dead. Conservationists want them safeguarded. The wolf is considered to be sacred by most Native Americans. Take a look at the video posted below and decide for yourself. Here are our thoughts on the subject.... A Few Thoughts About Wolves....The debate over wolves continues to rage. As we have said numerous times, we feel the wolf is unduly singled out for persecution. Not all wolves kill for pleasure, although there are certainly those that do. Not all wolves feed on livestock, although there are those that do. What would we expect when humans are continually encroaching upon their territories and those of their natural and habitual prey? Wolves have an important place within the natural ecosystems of this planet. Continue reading here.... Pe'Sla is the term the Lakota people use for their holy lands - the birthplace of their people, their place of sacred ceremony. These lands are located in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The lands in question legally belong to the "Sioux Nation" under treaty with the U.S. government. However, they were illegally homesteaded in the late 1800's, which has resulted in private ownership that is also considered to be legal. It is a matter that one would think should be settled in court. Evidently that is not the case. Today, these sacred lands are going up for auction to be sold to the highest bidder for development - namely a highway that is to cut through the Heart of the Black Hills. The lands will no longer be accessible to the Lakota people. The "Sioux Nation" has come together in an attempt to raise enough money to buy back their stolen lands, but they are short of funds and are fast approaching their November 30 deadline to raise them. You can help save this sacred site by spreading the word and/or making donations to the purchasing fund. Parts 2, 3, and 4 of Wisdom Keepers are up on the Sacred Earth Vision Quest Ranch blog.
"Wisdom Keepers" Part 1 is up on the Sacred Earth Vision Quest Ranch blog. The Wisdom Keepers, in Lakota culture, are the guardians of the mysteries of nature held in ancient oral teachings. Enjoy....

We would like to congratulate the people and the government of Bolivia in their recent banning of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in their country. In Bolivia, GMOs can neither be grown or imported. This measure has been enacted under Bolivia's "Mother Earth Law", and is an inspirational move demonstrating true commitment to the people and the land. It is a wise government and people who see that the greatest wealth any country can ever have is that of its people and its land. When the land is stewarded in a healthy and natural state, it will always Support its people with Life.
Bolivia established their "Mother Earth Law" in 2010. Ecuador also has a similar law that was included in their constitution when it was re-written in 2007-2008. This law is entitled "The Rights of Nature". We have learned that Turkey, Costa Rica, and other nations may also be considering similar laws of Protection for Mother Earth. We commend the people of these countries and their governments for having the courage and the commitment to enact these Protections for Mother Earth and all future generations who share Life with her! We'd like to extend our congratulations to San Juan County in Washington in passing a ban on the growing of genetically engineered (GMO) plants on their lands. We give our thanks to the residents and county government there for showing the way for the rest of the U.S. to follow! Well done!
For those of you who have been following the process of Prop. 37 - the proposition to label GMO foods - in California, you might be surprised to learn that Prop. 37 may NOT have failed as reported by the media. Evidently California precincts are still counting votes, so a clear pass or fail of this proposition is not established yet. According to the media, Prop. 37 failed by approximately half a million votes. However, a number of sources close to this legislation have learned that, as of yesterday, more than 3 million votes were yet to be counted. This leaves plenty of room for Prop. 37 to still pass into law! There is also pending legal investigation into the actions of the "No to 37" team for a number of alleged indiscretions, including the fraudulent use of the FDA seal and voice. This all seems like a great deal of opposition to something that is supposed to be "safe", "good for you", and that will "feed the world". November is Native American Heritage Month, and those of us at the Foundation have a very deep and personal connection with the indigenous peoples of this country and those around the world. We share the many thoughts, especially of commitment to the land and all her inhabitants.
In reflection of the great many contributions that the Native American people have made to American history - those we should be celebrating, as well as those we should be ashamed of - we invite you to watch the movie "Cangleska Wakan (the Sacred Hoop). This is a wonderful documentary on the lives of the present day Lakota people. You can find it on the Sacred Earth Vision Quest blog. We're winding down on a Tuesday afternoon with "Sosua Bay Sunset", another wonderful tune from Johannes Linstead's "Tales of a Gypsy" album. This is truly a world-class album. "Tales of a Gypsy" went to #1 on the Amazon Latin music charts less than a week after it's release. It has also been cruising up the World music and Smooth Jazz charts as well.
If you haven't tried Johannes' music out yet, we highly recommend that you do. You can find out more about Johannes and listen to more of his music on his page in our Artists' Hall of Gratitude. As you prepare yourself to cast your vote tomorrow, take a moment to reflect upon your choices of candidates. Sit in stillness for a moment and listen to the voice of your Heart. How does it advise you to vote?
We must recognize that there are no perfect candidates, just as there are no perfect people. However, there is perfect intention. Do the intentions of your chosen candidates resonate with your own intentions? Do they place the same value as you do in the things that matter the most to you? Do you Trust them? These candidates are elected to represent your voice. Do you Trust them to vote as you would? As citizens of a country, we have the right and the responsibility to make our voices heard to those who would represent us in our governmental affairs. Continue reading here: A Note Before You Vote Mike Adams of Natural News gives a down-to-earth review of a study from Cell Research showing just how GMOs interact with the DNA strands of the "hosts" who ingest them. These findings illustrate just how dangerous and Life altering consumption of GMOs is. It is amazing that scientific studies show us over and over again how damaging GMOs are to the biological body, yet Monsanto and other GMO proponents remain steadfast in saying GMOs don't even need to be tested! Just where are the GMOs lurking in your grocery store? Nearly everywhere! Check out this short animated video from the Genetic Roulette team. You might be surprised as they "sweep" the supermarket with a GMO detector! For those of you who have not yet seen the movie, "Genetic Roulette - The Gamble of Our Lives", the Free screening is still going on through November 6th. You can watch the film here.
