As it is Arbor Day, if you are in the U.S. and would like to help the efforts to save our existing forests or replant those that have been destroyed, there are several ways to do it. If you join the Arbor Day Foundation, you can receive ten trees to plant yourself or have ten trees planted in one of their reforestation efforts as a part of your $10 membership fee. You can contact your local National Forest Service to see if free trees are available locally. You can adopt part of an existing forest through The Nature Conservancy and other similar organizations. You can also make a donation to one of the many organizations who work diligently to save the world's forests through a variety of efforts from buying acreage to Protect to staging protests to stop logging and other deforestation.
However you choose to help, know that the world's trees and forests thank you. So does Mother Earth! And, we do, too!
