In honor of Russell Means, we thought we would share a Lakota Prayer tonight. This one is from Russell himself. While many may see Russell as controversial figure, it is important that we all respect his courage and dedication in standing firm in what he felt was right in the world. It is a lesson we can all learn from. Right or wrong, Russell Means was a Light for the Lakota people and for many other Native American peoples as well. California is leading the way in the efforts to require labeling of GMOs with Proposition 37 set to be voted on November 6. If California requires GMO labeling, more states will follow. Food manufacturers using GMO ingredients and food producers will have to disclose their GMO status to consumers. Once this disclosure is in place, consumers will have the information necessary to choose how they wish to feed themselves, their families, and their pets. This will truly be a great break through in food Freedom for American citizens.

For those who were not able to access the video showing the results of the two-year study that the team of French scientists did on the health impacts of Roundup and the ingestion of GMOs, you can give it a try again here. This video was reportedly taken down from YouTube for a time, and many who tried to see it were not able to. The video in our post is still functional, so if you missed it, try it again. It is well worth watching. The response to this study (the first long-term, non-Monsanto conducted study on GMOs) has been resounding. Both Russia and Poland have banned the import of American GMO corn as a result of it. For those of you who missed the first Free screening of "Genetic Roulette", you have another chance to see this dynamic and eye-opening movie. With so much wonderful information available to us these days, growing green, eating green, and living green is very easy to do. In the not-too-distant past, it was simply the way we lived Life. Sadly, today, we live in a world with a chemical concoction for everything from cleaning supplies to what's on the table for dinner.

In an effort to share as much good information and networking opportunities as we can, we have created a Facebook page just for sharing "green ideas". We hope you enjoy it. Sometimes, it is necessary to illustrate the lack of "green" in order to make the changes required to be "green". We'll share some of these things, too. In March of this year the movie "Hungry For Change" was released. To date, it has had nearly half a million viewers. Yesterday, the companion book, "Hungry for Change", was released, and has already shot up to page one of Amazon's best seller list. In Support of the release of their book, the Hungry For Change folks are sharing a Free preview of the movie again beginning today and running until midnight Saturday. If you missed seeing this movie earlier this year, or would like to see it again and share it with friends and family, you can watch it on the Hungry For Change website. You can find the book there, too, as well as in book stores across the country. Amazon is carrying it, as well.
