The Wellbriety Journey to Forgiveness....

This is an excellent documentary addressing the continuing saga of the traumas and injustices perpetrated against the Native American people through the auspices of the Carlisle Indian Boarding Schools. While many may feel that as the boarding schools are only a matter of history now, the fact of the matter is that the boarding schools are a part of Native Americans today, as well as their history. The damages inflicted upon the students of the boarding schools continue through these students' descendents and will for generations to come until we work together to Heal and Forgive.

Please take a look at this insightful film, and join in the Forgiveness and Healing movement that is at last at hand. Atrocities against mankind come in many forms, and it is time for this one to end.

We, the Original Caretakers of Mother Earth, have no choice but to follow and uphold the Original Instructions, which sustains the continuity of Life. We recognize our umbilical connection to Mother Earth and understand that she is the source of Life, not a resource to be exploited. We speak on behalf of all Creation today, to communicate an urgent message that man has gone too far, placing us in the state of survival. The Keystone XL Pipeline and the dirty oil that it transports creates an urgent threat to our collective future and poses the greatest immediate risk of contaminating our sacred waters, land, air, our communities and our way of life as the People of the Earth. In time, we will reconcile our differences, but for now we must come together for Mother Earth.

We, the People of the Earth, were instructed that the original wisdom must be shared again when imbalance and disharmony are upon Mother Earth. In 1994, the birth of a white buffalo calf revealed Pte San Win’s (White Buffalo Calf Woman’s) prophecy: “when a white buffalo calf stands upon the Earth it will be the sign of great changes to come”. This prophecy was given to the Pte Oyate, the Buffalo People (Lakota, Dakota, Nakota dialects) to bring forth the sacred message that the winds of change are here. On behalf of our future generations, we urge all Nations and human beings around the world to come together with good minds and prayer as a global community of all faiths to unite spiritually to heal the minds of those that are bringing danger with their decisions.

We are inviting all Nations to the home of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle to pray with the sacred fire and one another. This gathering will take place here in Green Grass, SD, lighting the sacred fire on April 23rd, 2014 and ending on the 26th of April. There will be a Sacred Horse Ride on the 25th: with the help of the Horse Nation we will carry our prayers to the sacred fire. We are asking all Nations to pray at their sacred sites as well, if you cannot attend.

In the Sacred Hoop of Life, where there is no ending and no beginning…

Hemp Bedding for Horses....

For those of you who are looking for something better for stall bedding, we have a suggestion for you. Give natural hemp bedding a try. Hemp bedding is much more absorbent than straw, and tends to clump up when it is wet. This makes for a more localized area of soiled bedding to muck out, and reduces the amount of wasted bedding material. Hemp bedding can save time and money, as well as being more ecologically friendly than straw or other bedding materials.

Idle No More: The Voice of a Movement....

On Earth Day, we are happy to bring awareness to a growing movement within the First Nation-Indigenous-Native peoples of the world called "Idle No More". While this movement began with First Nation peoples in Canada, it is quickly spreading to all reaches of the world. This movement speaks to the hundreds of years of broken treaties, attempted genocide, intolerance, prejudice, and the many more injustices committed against Indigenous peoples all over the planet. The Native peoples of this Earth are what we call the "Original Earth Keepers". They deserve respect, admiration, and Support for what is their rightful place in the world as the "Keepers of Mother Earth". It is time for the Earth to have a voice in how we live with her. As the First Nations peoples are those who are the most closely connected with her in their beings as the Earth Keepers they are, we should listen to their counsel.

To the Earth Keepers, we say "well done" and it is, indeed, a time to "Idle No More"! The Earth needs you!

This short film, "Idle No More: The Voice of a Movement" is a good introduction to the problems that lie behind the origins of this movement by the First Nations people of Canada. It's a well done film we think you'll enjoy and find enlightening.

Dakota 38....

In 1862, the U.S. Government conducted the largest execution in our nation's history under the order of President Abraham Lincoln. On December 26, 1862, thirty-eight Dakota warriors were simultaneously hung in Mankato, Minnesota. For what offense were these warriors hung?

The Dakota people had been removed from their homeland in Minnesota and relocated to South Dakota. They were introduced to their new "home" by being held in a stockade. They were not allowed any weapons or hunting, relying sheerly on the rations handed out by the government. However, the rations were skimmed by dishonest middlemen and the Dakota people were starving. As a last resort, and in an attempt to defend and Protect their people against starvation, the Dakota went to war with the U.S. again. It was a short-lived war, and resulted in the mass execution of these 38 warriors.

This is just one incident in a long history of violence, broken treaties and land theft, and many attempts to annihilate the native peoples of these lands and their cultures. For the Native American peoples - and as with all indigenous peoples - memories are not held to just one generation. These people, whom we refer to as "Earth Keepers", are so close together in their Oneness with their families, their people, their lands, and All That Is, that the memories are alive as fresh experiences to each and all. Each day begins the pains of wrongs done again and again, and will continue until Healing takes place. How is the Healing to come? It comes through Forgiveness and acknowledgement.

The Dakota 38 ride began as a vision of Forgiveness and Healing. It is a physical Release of hurts long held. The Healing and Forgiveness has begun. Let us all pray that it continues, for these are a beautiful people with a beautiful culture who belong very much in our world. They are our brothers and sisters. It is Time that we came into Oneness and Wholeness with them.

American Holocaust of Native American Indians....

The "American Holocaust of Native American Indians" presents a stark, yet Truthful look into the attempts to annihilate the culture of America's native peoples. This documentary brings to our attention the connection between the atrocities committed against the Jewish people by Adolf Hitler and the atrocities committed against the Native American peoples by the U.S. Government. While the entire world knows of the one holocaust, very few know of the other.

Many people think of the "treatment of the Native Americans" as simply a part of American history long past. However, the struggles of the native peoples of this land are far from over. These people are not gone. They are still very much present - as they should be. They face prejudice, judgment, segregation, and far worse today. They still face the mental, emotional, and spiritual pain that they carry from one generation to the next stimulated by the never-ending saga of extermination in one form or another.

The first step in helping the indigenous peoples of this land - and every land - to Heal from their painful Journey is to ask for Forgiveness, to offer our Love and Support, and to - perhaps most importantly - acknowledge the wrongs done to them. We can also embrace the great wisdom and beauty in each of their cultures, and accept the wonderful contributions to the world that they have to share. No people or culture should ever be extinct.

We share this documentary with the greatest sensitivity, Love, and respect for those who have endured the pains of any holocaust in any way. We share our Love with you.

The Truth About Thanksgiving....

Many of you will sit down to your Thanksgiving dinners and give thanks for the blessings in your Life. This is as it should be. Truly, every day should be Thanksgiving, for we are gifted with many blessings every day. However, on Thanksgiving Day, we should also give thanks to the Native American people of North America. Were it not for them, none who have European ancestors would be here today, for their ancestors would have perished upon reaching the shores of this country. It is very much appropriate to give acknowledgement and thanks for the many contributions that Native Americans have made to our lives and our country. Most of you may already know this.

However, what you may not know is that as thanks is given to the Native American people, Forgiveness should also be asked of them. What for? The history books do not reflect the Truth of the "real" Thanksgiving. They conveniently leave out a number of facts that change our perspective on this celebration greatly. Nowhere do the history books state that prior to the European presence, the Native American peoples numbered in the millions. The history books do not tell us that European diseases killed 90%-96% of the Native population. Entire villages died of European diseases and were left lying where they died. There were none left to bury them. Nowhere do the history books tell us that the European arrivals robbed the graves of the Native American dead, or that they stole crops and other goods. The history books do not tell the Truth that many Natives were enslaved into European servitude.

It is true that none of us alive today committed these acts. However, the few thousands of descendants of those millions of Native Americans who lived here prior to the "European invasion" still bear the scars of those times through traditions and memories of peoples who still remember their ancestors with reverence. As we live in a Time of Karma, it is most appropriate and opportunistic for us to ask Forgiveness on behalf of those who did commit these infractions. It is Time to help each other Heal from the wounds of times past. There is no better place to begin than now with the Truth About Thanksgiving.

Cangleska Wakan / The Sacred Hoop....

Cangleska Wakan (the Sacred Hoop) is a beautiful film that gives a poignant Insight into the lives of the Lakota people. Many people look at history's depiction of the relationships between the U.S. government and the Native American peoples as just history that is long past. However, the descendants of those Native Americans are still very much here and still dealing with the loss of their lands, their culture, their identity, and the many wrongs done to them as a people. They cannot simply be forgotten as historical casualties of "Westward Expansion" or "Manifest Destiny".

The Lakota people are here now, as our brothers and sisters on the land that should still be theirs rightfully and legally as stated in their treaties with the U.S. government. Yes, the Lakotas do have their "reservation lands". However, what most American people do not realize is that the Lakota cannot simply exist on a reservation. They, too, must have resources with which to Support their lives. This Support they do not have. Living conditions and Life expectancy on the Pine Ridge Reservation, for example, are the same as, or worse than, that of nearly any third world country.

The Lakota, as with all our Native American brothers and sisters, deserve our respect, our Support, and our Love. They deserve the Freedom to live with dignity and in celebration of their heritage. We hope you enjoy this look into their world and the Insights of their thoughts through Cangleska Wakan (the Sacred Hoop).

White Buffalo....A Good Omen of Rebith....

As the legend of the White Buffalo Calf Woman goes, she will send us signs in the form of white animals, particularly white buffalo, before she returns to once again share the gift of Rebirth. It is a happy day today as the latest white buffalo calf, born in northwestern Connecticut, has his naming ceremony. While it is a day of rejoicing for many, there is still an ache in the Hearts of those who feel the loss of the white buffalo calf slain in Texas in May.

Perhaps there is a lesson in this death and (re)birth occasion. No matter what is done to prevent White Buffalo Calf Woman from returning to guide her people, she will return!

It's Time to Plant More Trees....

It's Arbor Day tomorrow, and time to plant more trees to help offset our carbon footprint. But, where should you plant them? How about planting some trees along a fenceline, an irrigation ditch, or along the creek where your crops grow or livestock graze? We all know that our livestock needs shade just as much as we do. While our crops don't need the shade, they do benefit from more moisture in the soil. Planting trees around the sides of our crop fields helps to prevent erosion and hold moisture in the soil. Trees can also act as a snow break in the winter to keep the more snow on the field and less blowing in the wind. Trees offer us welcome relief from the Sun, too.

Fruit trees can grow nicely near irrigation ditches, creek, streams, rivers, or any body of water. They also provide us and our pets and livestock with some tasty treats all year long. If you haven't planted a fruit tree before, visit Sacred Earth Garden's blog to watch a how-to video.

The Prophecies of Stalking Wolf....

While Stalking Wolf's prophecies do not seem to be related to Earth Day celebrations and other activities, they actually are. These prophecies, and the many who are similar to them, speak to us of choices. NOW is the time in which we must make our choices that will create a world with a future as opposed to a world without a future. We will also concede that in the many years of channeling and vision experiences that we have had through the Healing Arts Center, we have also received information that is very much in line with Stalking Wolf's prophecies. We must make choices, both individually and collectively, and act upon those choices. The time for "paying lip service" to making changes is no more. It is time to BE the change!
