Hydraulic fracturing is happening in 34 states in the U.S., and as you can see, all around the world. It destroys the water, the air, and causes earthquakes. Some of these earthquakes are in areas that are fragile to begin with, such as in the New Madrid fault zone. Fracking may be a way to capture more natural gas to ease our energy needs, but the environmental price we pay for that gas is far too high. We can live without gas and oil, but we cannot live without clean water!

This is the PBS interview with Josh Fox from March of 2010 on his movie, Gasland, and on the subject of fracking. This is the trailer for the movie, Gasland, by Josh Fox. Gasland was the winner of the Special Jury Prize in the Sundance 2010 film festival for best documentary. It was also nominated for an Academy Award in 2011 for best documentary. So, what is "fracking"? Fracking is a slang term used for "hydraulic fracturing". It is a process used in the oil and gas industry to intentionally fracture the earth in order to extract more oil and natural gas from the ground. The process uses horizontal drilling methods and the use of millions of gallons of water combined with undisclosed chemical cocktails and sand. The water, sand, and chemicals are then injected at very high pressures to break open fissures through which the oil and/or gas can be captured - at least some of it can be captured. Some of the oil, gas, and chemicals leak upward into aquifers. The water from these contaminated aquifers is then pumped up through wells for use as household and irrigating water. There are those who feel that fracking for natural gas decreases our dependence on foreign oil. However, we should not be dependent on oil at all, but should instead be turning to the clean technology for energies and transportation that we already have. With our efforts to cling to our fossil fuel dependence, we may well be destroying our clean water resources. Lack of clean water to drink is a very high price to pay for our unwillingness to change. It is too high a price to pay. We can live without oil and gas. We will die without clean water. Which one will you Support? From the folks at "OnlyHempFuture".... Tesla cars have just about any amenity that their petro-based counterparts have, along with air bags. We think Tesla Motors has done an outstanding job of Supporting our environment and our people! They have embraced the need and the Timing for alternatively powered vehicles with tremendous attention to technology, functionality, and eye-appeal. They do the job very well. These are issues that we should all be aware of, as they enable us to make more informed choices in how we interact with each other and our environment.
